2021 Swimming Carnival

2021 Swimming Carnival

Students, Parents and Teachers were treated to a prefect day for the St Francis Xavier 2021 Swimming Carnival. And a fantastic carnival it was, with what makes our school community unique on full display.

Our Year Four students participating in their first carnival were extremely courageous. Ably supported by our parent volunteers, students joined in a range of activities that promoted participation and success regardless of ability. The Tee-Shirt Race and kickboard races being a highlight for many students.

Congratulations to our individual Champions and Runner Up Champions. An extremely competitive day however, the camaraderie and friendship were a true highlight. We look forward to seeing many of you represent the St Francis Xavier at the Interschool Carnival in coming weeks.

In addition to traditional races, the Parent, Student, Teacher race returned. The Blue Ribbon event attracted an exceptional field of swimmers, many reliving past glory days but all in the name of fun. Congratulations to all parents and staff who joined in and made this event an appropriate finish to the day’s racing.

Finally, a huge thankyou to our parent volunteers who made the day a success. Enabling non-swimmers to feel safe and supported and participate with their friends was a true celebration of being Child Focused. Marshalling students, awarding places and distributing ribbons all ensured the day ran seamlessly – thankyou.

This year, Xavier was the winning faction narrowly beating Thomas, followed by Nagle and Griffin. Importantly, the joy and friendship in amongst competition made the carnival a true success. Well done to everyone.
