21st Century Learners

21st Century Learners

St Francis Xavier focuses on equipping students with the necessary skills to be active and independent learners.

21st century learning is the constellation of learner characteristics which equips students to enjoy a high quality of life, work and relationships by being resilient, intentional, creative and confident learners who understand the value of collaboration, the relationship of effort to results and the need to be continually growing and learning.

In all year levels, students are provided with rich learning experiences in Science, Technologies, Arts and Mathematics. This includes using technologies to investigate, manage and create digital solutions. Students apply design and systems thinking to investigate, and generate and refine ideas to plan, produce and evaluate solutions.

Students participate in coding, music making, photography and filmmaking amongst other topics to keep up with the ever changing world of technology.

A school provided 1:1 iPad in our upper primary, ensures students are provided with the tools to engage in rich learning experiences and challenge their thinking. Our junior years have access to shared devices enabling individual or collaborative learning opportunities.
