Design & Technology

Design & Technology

The Technologies Learning area has two subjects: Digital Technology and Design Technology.

Digital Technology

In Digital Technology, students use a variety of technologies to investigate, manage and create digital solutions. In this subject students will be exposed to coding, filmmaking and robotics amongst other topics to keep up with the ever changing world of technology. Digital citizenship is a focus throughout all year levels so that students can make an informed decision about the choices that they make online.

Design Technology

In Design Technology, students manage projects, independently and collaboratively, from conception to realisation. They apply design and systems thinking and design processes to investigate ideas, generate and refine ideas, plan, produce and evaluate designed solutions. They develop their ability to generate innovative designed products, services and environments.

Our Philosophy

At St Francis Xavier Primary School, our philosophy is grounded in Catholic faith and Gospel values, nurturing the whole child—spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe every child is unique and created in the image of God, deserving of respect, care, and opportunities to grow.

Our Values

Guided by Christus Lux Mea — Christ is My Light — our values are rooted in discipleship, learning, and community. With Christ as our guiding light, we live out Gospel values through respect, compassion, integrity, and service to others. We value learning as a lifelong journey, encouraging curiosity, perseverance, and excellence in all that we do.
